Respect the American flag

While we DO have the Constitutional right to disrespect our flag, kneeling/raising your fist for our National Anthem is nothing more then an ‘in your face’ stunt - designed to offend people. There is no  legitimate reason to disrespect the flag today.

Blacks conveniently forget the TRILLIONS of dollars spent on the War on Poverty since 1965 - largely benefiting blacks. We have had quotas in everything for 50 years. Other nationalities have been denied college admission and employment opportunities due to quotas. Since the 1980s, private businesses have spent over a BILLION dollars on programs directed specifically to blacks. ALL of this money and effort was intended to pull blacks into the mainstream of society and keep them out of jail.

Apparently, all of this help means nothing. Whatever help is done for blacks in the future will undoubtedly mean nothing as well. The truth is NOTHING ELSE needs to be done for civil rights for blacks. They have all the opportunity needed for success and they have had this opportunity for decades. Blacks are not oppressed but the professional race baiters continue to incite racial discord. According to ‘Rev.’ Jesse Jackson, going from slavery in the 1800s to making millions in pro sports is a lateral move.(1)

Playing the black ‘national anthem’ - “lift every voice and sing” - before games is just ignorant. Only OUR national anthem should be played.

The Black national anthem is a political statement. “The Star-Spangled Banner” is not a political statement. It’s derived from a poem written by Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812 about the toughness of the American garrison at Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore. From a Royal Navy warship on which he was held captive, Key watched the relentless bombardment of the fort that night and its refusal to surrender. Miraculously, at “the dawn’s early light, our flag was still there” and the British fleet withdrew.(2)

The concluding lines of the black national anthem reads “May we forever stand, true to our God, True to our native land.” If by native land, that means America, we already have a national anthem. If those words refer to Africa, you are living in the wrong country and should leave. The NFL will do fine without you.(2)

American blacks aren’t a nation, they’re one of many demographic groups within our nation; Irish, Germans, Polish, English, Latinos, Asians, men, women, Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. Should all of these have national anthems? Blacks are 12% of the U.S. population, Latinos are 19%. Should they have an anthem, too?(2)
