Obama violates Constitution by selective enforcement of immigration laws.

The White House has repeatedly tried to get Congress to pass the “DREAM Act” illegal alien amnesty bill, but Congress happens to disagree with the “DREAM ACT.” Since Obama couldn't get Congress to agree with him, he bypassed Congress by announcing the selective enforcement of immigration laws on August, 2011. Obama decision is a violation of the law, not to mention his own oath of office and the Constitution. This unethical administration is now able to pretty much implement the DREAM ACT simply by refusing to enforce existing law. This is a direct attack upon the Rule of Law, one of the most fundamental principles of our republic.

The Obama administration also said it would suspend deportation proceedings against many illegal immigrants who pose no threat to national security or public safety. White House officials said the new policy could help illegal immigrants with family members in the United States. The White House is interpreting “family” to include partners of lesbian, gay and bisexual people.

Richard Socarides, a New York lawyer who was an adviser to President Bill Clinton on gay issues, said, “The new policy will end, at least for now, the deportations of gay people legally married to their same-sex American citizen partners, and it may extend to other people in same-sex partnerships.”

Are illegals who haven’t broken the law (besides being here illegally) any more illegal then someone who has broken laws - in addition to being here illegally? They are both illegal. This is why states are passing their own immigration laws - because Obama refuses to uphold the law and his oath of office.

The government will now review 300,000 cases of people in deportation proceedings. It is a certainty that most will now not be deported.

Representative Lamar Smith, Republican of Texas, stated: “The Obama administration has again made clear its plan to grant backdoor amnesty to illegal immigrants. The administration should enforce immigration laws, not look for ways to ignore them. Officials should remember the oath of office they took to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land.”
