Obama forces military to accept gays

With Obama using lies and deceit, the centuries-old ban on homosexuals serving in the U.S. military officially ended at 12:01 a.m., September 20, 2011 with celebration and jubilation in the “gay” community, and uneasiness among the millions of Americans who opposed the repeal as destructive to their nation’s defense and security. The bill to lift the ban was one of the last bills passed by the outgoing Democratic controlled Congress in December 2010.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins issued the following statement:"America's military has barred homosexual conduct in the ranks ever since George Washington's Continental Army. President Obama, Secretary Panetta and Admiral Mullen have no basis - other than liberal political correctness - for 'certifying' that a reversal of this longstanding policy would do no harm.(2)

"Even the Pentagon's biased report on the subject last year illustrated the dangers of using the military for social engineering. Retention would be harmed - 24 percent of service members said repeal would have a negative impact on their 'intentions to remain in the military,' a number six times higher than those who said it would have a positive effect. Recruiting would be harmed - repeal was four times more likely to have a negative than a positive effect on 'your willingness to recommend' a military career. Unit cohesion would be harmed - 62 percent foresaw at least some negative effects, and the report conceded that in open forums, 'the majority of views were against repeal.'(2)

"The entire process by which the Obama administration has orchestrated repeal of this law was dishonest from the start. The recent revelation of a Defense Department Inspector General's report on unauthorized leaks to the media showed that the conclusions of the Pentagon's report on repeal had already been written before the troops were even asked their views.(2)

"I urge Congress to put the brakes on 'repeal implementation' to investigate this scandal, and to reverse the ill-advised decision of last year's repudiated Democratic lame duck Congress."(2)

The U.S. military is a unique element of our society. The 1993 Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell law stated that “there is no constitutional right to serve” and pointed out that the military is a “specialized society” that is “fundamentally different from civilian life.” This was and is so self-evident that the present state of affairs is nothing less than astonishing. Homosexuality was deemed an “unacceptable risk” to good order, discipline, morale and unit cohesion—qualities essential for combat readiness.

There are still very good reasons for the military’s opposition to open homosexuals serving. It is undoubtedly a fact that homosexuals have always served. Anyone who has ever been in the military knew of gays serving in their unit, but practiced a tolerance we took for granted by neither acknowledging it, nor engaging in any action against it.

For generations of Americans, the most famous kiss between a Navy sailor and a nurse occurred during the celebration of Japan’s surrender in New York’s Times Square on August 14, 1945.

Now we come to 2011 and 3 years of Obama forcing the LGBT agenda on America, the military and our schools.  The photo of two Navy lesbians kissing represents the “progress” that a vocal minority has made, given the support of liberal politicians on both sides of the aisle working against the tide of resistance of majority Americans who are fighting the social implications of “gay rights”, the demands for “gay marriage”, and the influence over young minds passing through government school systems. This is the first time a same-sex couple was chosen to have the first kiss - a Navy tradition for ships returning to port. David Bauer, the commanding officer of the Oak Hill,(1) said the crew’s reaction was “positive” and he informed the Associated Press “It’s going to happen and the crew’s going to enjoy it.” WOW
